Margaret posted the following to our GoddessChristians\u00c2\u00a0forum<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0on May 23, 2008 during a gender morality and gender roles discussion.<\/p>\n

I, too, believe that\u00c2\u00a0we fail to consider the children–unto 7 generations, as the Native\u00c2\u00a0American grandmothers insist!…. Our materialistic world-view has\u00c2\u00a0caused women to abandon what was a sacred calling to nurture the\u00c2\u00a0children–and left the Television to be the “hand that rocks the\u00c2\u00a0cradle”–with obvious consequences! I’m for Fathers and Mothers\u00c2\u00a0sharing the responsibilities of nurturing as much as possible–but\u00c2\u00a0that balance isn’t always achieved. My husband and I were noticing the\u00c2\u00a0difference between our grown kids and those of some family members who\u00c2\u00a0left their kids for others to raise while both parents worked outside\u00c2\u00a0their home….<\/p>\n

Western dualism causes a split that is hard to heal…. which is why\u00c2\u00a0my work is about the “Sacred Reunion” of masculine and feminine\u00c2\u00a0(“integration of Logos and Sophia”) as illustrated in the “marriage\u00c2\u00a0window” showing Jesus and Mary Magdalene “handfasted” (posted on my\u00c2\u00a0website: www.margaretstarbird.net –please feel free to copy, print\u00c2\u00a0and disseminate! St. Thomas Aquinas:\u00c2\u00a0 \u00e2\u20ac\u0153If a female is conceived, this is due to a\u00c2\u00a0defect in the mother or to some external influence like that of a\u00c2\u00a0humid wind from the south.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

That is why it is so important to “excavate” the real truth about the\u00c2\u00a0original teachings of Jesus. The article’s quote from the Gospel of\u00c2\u00a0Thomas that has Jesus saying with regard to Mary Magdalene “…I will\u00c2\u00a0make her male..” is a mistranslation of the Greek which uses the word\u00c2\u00a0“anthropos”– This word doesn’t mean “Male” in the sense of gender. It\u00c2\u00a0would be better translated:\u00c2\u00a0 “I will make her a ‘perfected human-being’ ” —<\/p>\n

“… there shall yet be heard, the voice of the Bridegroom, the voice\u00c2\u00a0of the Bride!”<\/p>\n
