{"id":28,"date":"2007-03-28T12:00:28","date_gmt":"2007-03-28T18:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/northernway.org\/weblog\/?p=28"},"modified":"2007-03-28T12:00:28","modified_gmt":"2007-03-28T18:00:28","slug":"easter-christian-pagan-resurrection-of-nature-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northernway.org\/weblog\/?p=28","title":{"rendered":"Easter: Christian Pagan Resurrection of Nature &#038; God"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My eight year old daughter (I have five children at home) looked out at our willow tree three weeks ago when all the many other trees were still &#8220;dead&#8221; and cried out\u00c2\u00a0 excitedly, &#8220;Look Mama!\u00c2\u00a0 The willow tree came back to life!&#8221; She was so amazed, and my three year old with her.\u00c2\u00a0 Out the door they went to investigate.<\/p>\n<p>My children love that tree (we planted it after the baby was born last year) and were so sad it had &#8220;died&#8221; over the winter.\u00c2\u00a0 Her sudden lightbulb moment realization made me realize why the ancients loved spring so much.\u00c2\u00a0 It was\u00c2\u00a0thus vitally\u00c2\u00a0important\u00c2\u00a0for Jesus \/ Yeshua \/ Adonis \/ Tammuz \/ Osiris to &#8220;die&#8221; and then come back to life in the Spring.\u00c2\u00a0 Ancient people must have been very afraid all winter long that Nature was dead for good, and might not resurrect.
