{"id":163,"date":"2009-02-01T19:22:01","date_gmt":"2009-02-02T02:22:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.northernway.org\/weblog\/?p=163"},"modified":"2010-01-18T20:04:09","modified_gmt":"2010-01-19T03:04:09","slug":"candlemas-imbolc-pre-christian-christian-both","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northernway.org\/weblog\/?p=163","title":{"rendered":"Candlemas \/ Imbolc, Pre-Christian &#038; Christian both"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Candlemas, Imbolc, Groundhog Day and the Lady<\/div>\n<div>This is one of those cool holidays that like Christmas has inspiring pagan and inspiring Christian rites to go along with it. \u00c2\u00a0Other holidays may have both pagan and Christian observations, but one or the other is less inspiring, boring, depending on the holiday. \u00c2\u00a0Like Valentine&#8217;s Day &#8212; the pagan observations are far more exciting than the Saint day observations. \u00c2\u00a0St. Patrick&#8217;s Day is like that too &#8212; pagan part more inspiring than Christian saints day observations. \u00c2\u00a0The reverse is true for Easter, whose pagan observations aren&#8217;t as sublime as its Christian elements.
