{"id":125,"date":"2008-11-08T13:11:31","date_gmt":"2008-11-08T20:11:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.northernway.org\/weblog\/?p=125"},"modified":"2010-01-18T22:08:46","modified_gmt":"2010-01-19T05:08:46","slug":"jesus-mystery-teachings-require-eagerness-for-oneness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northernway.org\/weblog\/?p=125","title":{"rendered":"Jesus&#8217; Mystery Teachings require eagerness for Oneness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/1556434588\/esoterictheologi\" target=\"_blank\" border=\"0\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/northernway.org\/images\/bookChristianZen.jpg\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"12\" vspace=\"12\"> <\/a>morning devotions I came across this gem in one of my favorite little books (with a big title!), <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/1556434588\/esoterictheologi\" target=\"_blank\">Christian Zen, the Essential Teachings of Jesus Christ: The Secret Sayings of Jesus as Related in the Gospel of Thomas<\/a><\/em>:<\/p>\n<p>Jesus said, &#8220;I will disclose my mysteries to those who are worthy of my mysteries.&#8221; &#8211; Gospel of Thomas verse 62<\/p>\n<p>________<\/p>\n<p>To understand and live in <em>advaita<\/em> [absolute Oneness] requires a certain ripeness or maturity. Again, Jesus exhorts his followers to keep the teaching esoteric, and to share it only with those who are ready and eager for it.<\/p>\n<p>* * * * *<\/p>\n<p>The commentary is by the compiler of the book, Robert Powell, a cool Sophianic author whose work I enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>Since we run an <a href=\"http:\/\/northernway.org\/school.html\" target=\"_blank\">online Mystery School<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/northernway.org\/ordain.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Interfaith Seminary<\/a> that teaches esoteric mysteries, the above quote really speaks to our mission. \u00c2\u00a0An &#8216;eagerness&#8217; for the mysteries and for Oneness should be observed before the mysteries are imparted. \u00c2\u00a0Staff members take note, please! &lt;laugh&gt;\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Headed out the door here soon for our weekly Eckhart Tolle teachings gathering. \u00c2\u00a0Tolle imparts a Zen quality to Christianity too&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0Put Jesus, Zen, Gnosticism and Tolle&#8217;s teachings all together with Magdalene and the sacred union (Oneness), and wow, what more is there? &lt;grin&gt;<\/p>\n<p>If you click on the little book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/1556434588\/esoterictheologi\" target=\"_blank\">Christian Zen<\/a> you can read several pages inside.
