{"id":1108,"date":"2015-05-04T11:29:20","date_gmt":"2015-05-04T15:29:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.northernway.org\/weblog\/?p=1108"},"modified":"2015-05-04T11:29:20","modified_gmt":"2015-05-04T15:29:20","slug":"papal-hypocrisy-equal-pay-for-women-but-wont-ordain-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.northernway.org\/weblog\/?p=1108","title":{"rendered":"Papal Hypocrisy: Equal Pay for Women, But Won&#8217;t Ordain Women!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Ordination of Women?<\/h1>\n<p>Our <a href=\"http:\/\/northernway.org\/ordain.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">seminary<\/a> ordains men AND women because we believe becoming ordained as a priest (or other clergy ordination) should be an answer to the Call, not dependent on one&#8217;s gender! We also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northernway.org\/ordain.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">ordain<\/a> both men and women as minister, rabbi, reverend, chaplain, etc.<\/p>\n<p>A few days ago the Pope in Rome called for equal pay for women worldwide. Women should get the same pay as men, he said. Why would one worry about equal *pay* when one is not even recognizing men and women are equal in more basic human rights &#8211; specifically in this case, opening the priesthood to *all* human beings. Seems pretty fundamental to me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Becoming Ordained &#8212; and she&#8217;s female!<\/h2>\n<p>One of our seminarians, Deacon Angela, who will soon be ordained a woman priest, concurred\u00c2\u00a0saying, &#8220;I agree.
